Synopsis
“One to One – John & Yoko” offers a unique glimpse into the lives of two of the most iconic figures in music history, John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg, the film captures an intimate portrait of the couple during their famous “One to One” concert in 1972, aimed at raising funds for the Willowbrook State School, a facility for children with developmental disabilities.
The documentary showcases not just the performance, but also the chemistry and dynamics between John and Yoko. The film’s narrative feels personal, yet it never loses sight of the larger cause behind the event. The performance itself is a memorable experience, featuring a mix of Lennon’s solo work, Beatles classics, and some of Yoko’s avant-garde pieces. The concert serves as a reminder of how Lennon used his platform to support causes close to his heart, while also giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the couple’s collaborative efforts in both music and activism.
