Synopsis
The Wrong Paris tells the story of Dawn Blanton, a small-town waitress with dreams of studying art in Paris, France. Facing financial constraints, she joins a reality dating show, The Honeypot, thinking it’s filmed in Paris, France. To her surprise, the show is actually set in Paris, Texas. Planning initially to get eliminated quickly for the payout, Dawn’s strategy changes when she unexpectedly falls for the bachelor, Trey McAllen III, a wealthy cowboy.
Performances
Miranda Cosgrove as Dawn delivers a charming and relatable performance, capturing both the ambition and vulnerability of her character. Her comic timing shines in lighthearted sequences, making her the emotional center of the film.
Pierson Fodé as Trey brings charisma and charm, though at times the chemistry with Dawn feels forced. Supporting cast members add flavor but often remain underdeveloped.
Direction and Cinematography
Directed by Janeen Damian, known for other romantic comedies, the movie follows a classic Hallmark-style rom-com formula. The cinematography emphasizes bright, sunny visuals of small-town Texas, contrasting with Dawn’s dream of Paris. However, some scenes feel awkwardly edited, and the camera work occasionally lacks smoothness, reducing the impact of comedic or emotional moments.
Music and Sound
The background score complements the romantic and comedic beats but does not leave a lasting impression. Musical sequences are minimal but effective in maintaining the film’s lighthearted tone.
Audience Reception
The movie appeals mainly to fans of feel-good romantic comedies. Its predictable plot and charming performances make it an easy watch for those seeking light entertainment. However, viewers looking for depth, innovative storytelling, or strong romantic tension may find it lacking.
Verdict
The Wrong Paris (2025 Hindi) is a guilty-pleasure romantic comedy. It offers some laughs, sweetness, and escapism but doesn’t push any boundaries. Watch it if you enjoy light, formulaic rom-coms with a small-town twist, but don’t expect a cinematic masterpiece.
